The history of Intercable Germany

Germany has always been an interesting target market for Intercable, but we have always been denied access to the electrical wholesale trade.

In autumn 2009 7 new employees joined the team to start the new office for Intercable in Remscheid. At the same time, the acquisition of Weitkowitz and its production of connection technology was seen as an opportunity to gain a sustainable foothold in Germany with manufacturer competence in the electrical wholesale trade.

Every beginning is difficult, also for the Intercable Germany team. In the new not yet completely furnished branch in the Leverkuser Straße in Remscheid, but also mostly from home, they created a product range adapted to the electrical wholesale in record time, because already in March 2010 the first important date was coming up: on the occasion of the Light & Building in Frankfurt, the most important electrical fair in Europe, they did not only want to be ready for take-off, but it was.

After this first official market appearance basic work was needed, because who knew Intercable on the market? Three sales representatives drove the whole country from north to south and from west to east with the aim to be listed in the electrical wholesale associations. The first highlight was reached as an industrial warehouse partner already at the end of 2010

As a result, the first commercial agencies were brought on board between 2015 and 2016 in order to be able to devote themselves to new challenges.  In 2017 the sales units Remscheid and Peine were merged and divided into the areas of trade/industry and OEM/key account.

2020 will be marked by the 10th anniversary of the company. On the occasion of the foundation anniversary Intercable Remscheid invited to a small, modest celebration in October.
